- Set a goal. What move? I suggest picking just one to start. A backflip is a good one to start with.
- Find multiple places to train. It's the most essential factor for tricking success. Plyo gyms and parks/fields. Seek out as many places as you can and create your own little collection of places to train for your goal.
- Make room in your schedule to do this stuff.
- Get a local friend to join you. Or make a friend out of someone local who already does this stuff. You need to a local training partner for this, at least in the beginning.
You need to do these things when you start practicing acrobatic tricks. You could try martial arts as a gateway into tricking like I did. That's a good suggestion for anyone younger than 18 years old, but it also depends on what kind of moves you like. If you like kicks then do that, but if you only want some flips then attending martial arts classes would probably not be your thing.
Whatever it is you end up doing, you need to be aware that these things are the foundation of your practice for tricks. You need goals, places to train, time, and help. And you need to want it bad enough to do all of this. Goodluck!
