Clothing Care
Here's a comprehensive guide to caring for our clothing, keeping them looking, and performing their best for longer!
tl;dr
- First: Read the garment label care instructions.
- Wash in cold water when possible.
- (Or at least don't wash hot with a bunch of towels)
- Wash with like colors when possible.
- Remove from the washer immediately after washing.
- (Don't let it lay on itself or in a lump of clothes while wet)
- LINE DRY! THIS ONE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT!
- ...and don't Iron (does anyone iron fitness clothing lol? Just don't.)
Finally, the less you wash and dry the garments (in general), the longer they last. Unless my Jujimufu clothes get filthy or super gross, sweaty, and literally "stinky," I won't bother washing them. This saves your money, time, and maybe even mankind!?
Stretchy Pants
I have Stretchy Pants that have lasted for over a decade (yes, we've had the product long before we started selling to the public in 2015).
Follow the garment label care instructions or read the tl;dr above for cleaning; they'll last a very long time.
Stretchy pants, in particular, are prone to tiny holes and tears if exposed to something offensive like wooden splinters or kneading cats. So avoid spikes and claws. Ok?
The Splitman Logo will fade in time no matter what you do. The fabric is so unique that it only holds designs for a limited time. (and no, manufacturing with embroidery is NOT the answer with our Stretchy Pants). You can make the Splitman logo last longer by line drying. I've found that it extends the lifespan of the logo significantly. Still, after approximately six months of use, you will see it begin to peel.
Short Shorts
I've found the Short Shorts become more comfortable the more I wear and wash them because the waistband material will soften up. Line Dry the shorts for the same reason you Line Dry the Stretchy Pants: The Splitman Logo will peel off quickly if dried in a machine dryer because of the light, stretchy fabric. So make the Splitman logo last longer by line drying. I've found that to extend the lifespan of the logo significantly. Still, after approximately six months of use, you will see it begin to peel.
Workout Pajamas
Don't hot wash our workout pajamas with a bunch of towels and nuke them in the dryer, please. Workout Pajamas are constructed of a particular 70:25:5 poly:rayon:spandex blend, which makes pattern fade inevitable. You can slow pattern fade by washing cold and line drying, which also extends the lifespan of the actual fabric material.
Suppose you decide out of convenience to disregard the care instructions by hot washing and drying in a high-heat drying machine. In that case, your pattern vibrancy will fade sooner rather than later. However, repeated wash/dry cycles will likely give them a softer feel, which is still a win!
